The responsibilities of state institutions regarding the implementation of the National Action Plan against human trafficking have been officially defined.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these directives were formalized in a decree signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
Under the decree, relevant central executive authorities are required to prepare and submit proposals for the implementation of the "National Action Plan against human trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030," which was approved by the President on July 15, 2026 (Decree No. 1100). These proposals must be finalized and submitted by July 1, 2027.
The decree further mandates that the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress of the National Action Plan starting from 2027.
This initiative represents a significant step in Azerbaijan's ongoing commitment to strengthening its legislative and institutional frameworks against transnational organized crime. By establishing a structured timeline and assigning clear monitoring responsibilities to specialized bodies, the government aims to enhance the efficiency of its anti-trafficking efforts, ensuring compliance with international standards and protecting vulnerable populations within the country.
