The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Maldives.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry shared a statement regarding this milestone on its official "X" (formerly Twitter) account.
"We remain committed to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest," the ministry noted in its post.
The Maldives, an archipelagic state in the Indian Ocean, has increasingly sought to deepen its engagement with various international partners, including Azerbaijan, in recent years. This diplomatic milestone underscores the ongoing efforts by both nations to foster closer ties, particularly within the framework of international organizations and through potential collaborative initiatives in tourism, climate change mitigation, and economic development.
