Azerbaijan and Iran have fully restored freight transportation services for all types of vehicles across their mutual state borders.
The Cabinet of Ministers informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the movement of goods between Azerbaijan and Iran, including entry and exit for transit purposes, was officially resumed as of 10:00 AM on March 9.
The restoration of logistics and transit operations marks a significant step in strengthening regional trade corridors. Azerbaijan serves as a critical hub in the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), and the seamless movement of cargo across the Azerbaijani-Iranian border is essential for maintaining the efficiency of trade routes connecting South Asia with Northern Europe. This development is expected to bolster economic cooperation and increase the volume of transit traffic passing through the South Caucasus region.
