Azerbaijan and Ecuador have officially abolished visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the development was confirmed during today's session of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly). Lawmakers reviewed and subsequently ratified the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador on the exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports."

The agreement was adopted in a single reading following parliamentary deliberations. This diplomatic move is expected to streamline official travel and strengthen administrative ties between Baku and Quito. Such agreements are part of Azerbaijan's broader foreign policy strategy to expand its diplomatic footprint and foster closer cooperation with nations in Latin America, facilitating easier movement for government officials and diplomats to enhance bilateral dialogue.
