The average monthly salary for teachers in Azerbaijan has reached 1,030 AZN, marking a significant increase compared to previous years. Since 2014, the remuneration for teaching staff in the country has risen nearly fourfold, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance the social status and professional standing of educators.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this statement was made by the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, during the event titled "Certification: Competent Teacher - Quality Education."
Minister Amrullayev provided a detailed breakdown of the current salary structure based on certification performance:
- For the 30,590 teachers who achieved high results in certification (receiving a 35% salary supplement), the average monthly salary is 1,300 AZN.
- For the 60,818 teachers who successfully passed the certification (receiving a 10% salary supplement), the average monthly salary is 1,010 AZN.
- For the 23,984 staff members who have not yet participated in or successfully completed the certification process, the average monthly salary is 770 AZN.
The teacher certification process in Azerbaijan is a strategic initiative aimed at improving the quality of general education.
