Italian coach Antonio Conte has praised Barcelona and the work of the club’s La Masia academy. His comments were published by The Athletic.
Conte said 18-year-old players move naturally from La Masia into the first team and are comfortable playing in a large stadium in front of thousands of spectators. He said this was the result of the extensive work carried out at the academy.
“They are doing a tremendous job. Everything at the academy works harmoniously and in coordination with the head coach. I would very much like to visit their academy. They have a clear structure there, and the system is perfectly aligned with the first team,” Conte said.
Antonio Conte has previously managed Napoli, Inter, Chelsea and Juventus. The Italian coach is currently not under contract with any club.
