“Anthropic” reported nearly $17 billion in revenue in the third quarter, about 12 times the figure recorded a year earlier, according to a company filing on Monday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The developer of the “Claude” chatbot said revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30 exceeded the $16.3 billion it generated in the whole first half of 2026.

“Anthropic”’s net loss widened to $23.3 billion from $12.1 billion in the same quarter last year, while operating expenses rose 292% to $17.5 billion.

Computing commitments reach $895 billion

“Anthropic” has committed to spending $895 billion, almost all of it on computing capacity and infrastructure, Bloomberg reported. About $70 billion of those commitments is due in the 12 months through September 2027, and the company expects to incur roughly $448 billion by the end of 2030, according to the report.

The commitments cover purchases and leases, some of which have yet to begin. “Anthropic” said in its initial prospectus that it expects to incur nearly all the remaining spending between 2031 and 2045.

According to Bloomberg, the company uses chips from “Amazon”, “Google”, “Nvidia” and “AMD” to train its artificial intelligence models, operate “Claude” for customers and support its researchers.

IPO could rival SpaceX debut

“Anthropic” filed an amended prospectus with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, a week after its initial public filing on Oct. 26. It has applied to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT.

Both “Anthropic” and existing shareholders plan to sell shares, with the company receiving proceeds only from shares it sells. “Goldman Sachs” and “Morgan Stanley” are leading the offering, which is expected before the US Thanksgiving holiday, Bloomberg reported.

“Anthropic” is seeking to match or exceed the $86.2 billion raised by “SpaceX” in its market debut, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Investors have told bankers working on the offering that they consider a fair valuation to be around $1.4 trillion to $1.5 trillion, according to the report.

“Anthropic” left the proposed share price and number of shares blank in its initial prospectus.
