“Everyone knows how much effort we are making to strengthen Islamic solidarity, and we are playing a unifying role in this regard,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that he made the remarks while addressing the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).
The president said Azerbaijan’s history and present, as well as its political steps and capabilities, made it possible to play this role. Islamic solidarity refers to cooperation and mutual support among Muslim communities and countries, including through political and diplomatic engagement.
