The next medium-term period covering 2027–2030 is shaping new strategic challenges and goals for Azerbaijan amid complex geopolitical and economic processes in the region and global development trends.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov made the remarks at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting he chaired.
“The consistent and purposeful policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev during the period that has passed this year, along with extensive diplomatic activity, is opening up new opportunities for Azerbaijan’s future development. Today, Azerbaijan is advancing a consistent peace agenda aimed at strengthening lasting peace and stability in the region, while keeping the restoration of liberated territories, the Great Return, economic diversification and the country’s long-term development among its main priorities. The next medium-term period covering 2027–2030 is shaping new strategic challenges and goals for the country in light of complex geopolitical and economic processes in the region and global development trends. This situation requires the efficient use of existing opportunities in line with the priorities of state policy at the next stage and further strengthening preparedness for possible risks,” he said.
According to the prime minister, effective budgetary and fiscal policy will play an important role in implementing these objectives: “During the upcoming period, properly directing financial resources toward key priorities, preserving socioeconomic stability and achieving strategic development goals will be among the main conditions. This approach requires financial planning to be closely aligned with the country’s long-term development priorities and the strategic documents currently being implemented. In this regard, ‘Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socioeconomic Development’ and the ‘Strategy for Socioeconomic Development in 2022–2026’ prepared on its basis, as well as the ‘First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories,’ are of particular importance.”
Medium-term planning documents typically set out the policy framework for allocating public resources, maintaining macroeconomic stability and coordinating development programs. In Azerbaijan, such priorities are also linked to reconstruction in the liberated territories, economic diversification and the implementation of long-term national development objectives.
