Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who is on a working visit to Ashgabat, met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on May 22.
The Cabinet of Ministers informed Operative Information Center-OMM that during the meeting, Ali Asadov conveyed the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to the Turkmen head of state.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev and asked the Prime Minister to convey his own regards to the Azerbaijani leader. The sides emphasized the dynamic development of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan based on mutual trust and discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including energy, transit-transport logistics, and trade.
The relationship between Baku and Ashgabat has reached the level of a strategic partnership, bolstered by historical ties and shared interests in the Caspian region. Both nations play a pivotal role in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), which connects Asia and Europe. This meeting follows a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening regional stability and economic integration between the two Turkic-speaking nations.
