UEFA and FIFA financial support for AFFA: Allocation details revealed
The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) has announced the specific directions for the expenditure of funds allocated by UEFA. According to the official report from the national association, the financial resources are aimed at bolstering the management and infrastructure of football in Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that within the framework of UEFA's Hat-Trick Solidarity programs, a total of 6,435,438 manats has been allocated to AFFA for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 seasons. These funds are designated for the development of national teams across various age groups, youth leagues, grassroots programs, refereeing, coaching education, and the improvement of infrastructure standards.
In addition to UEFA's contribution, it was highlighted that FIFA has allocated 2,874,917 manats under its "Forward" and other development programs. This financial support is intended to support local football and management systems in the long term. The funding will facilitate the development of young players, enhance coaching potential, and upgrade the standards of stadiums and training facilities across the country. The strategic use of these funds is expected to ensure the sustainable growth of Azerbaijani football and the implementation of management systems that meet international standards.
UEFA's Hat-Trick program, established in 2003, is one of the largest solidarity and development initiatives in the sporting world. It redistributes revenue from the European Championship back into the development of football across all 55 UEFA member associations. For Azerbaijan, such international financial cooperation remains a cornerstone for maintaining modern sporting infrastructure and fostering the next generation of athletes in the capital, Baku, and regional centers.
