Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
The congratulatory letter was published by the Operative Information Center-OMM.
"Dear Mr. President, I sincerely congratulate you and the people of Azerbaijan on your country's Independence Day. Year after year, Azerbaijan demonstrates its dynamic development, increasing its role and influence in regional and international processes as an important participant in regional cooperation in the fields of energy, logistics, and economy," the letter reads.
President Zelenskyy highly appreciated the strategic nature of relations between the two nations and Azerbaijan's consistent support for Ukraine and its people during this extremely difficult period. He expressed special gratitude for the humanitarian and energy assistance provided to Ukraine, Azerbaijan's participation in the restoration of the city of Irpin, as well as the implementation of rehabilitation and health programs for Ukrainian children, calling these steps a manifestation of genuine solidarity and mutual respect.
"Ukraine invariably supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states within their internationally recognized borders. I am confident that commitment to these principles will continue to remain the basis of stability and security in the Black Sea-Caspian region," Zelenskyy added, emphasizing the great potential for further development of cooperation in energy, logistics, transport, infrastructure, and security.
