A yellow weather warning has been issued for several regions across Azerbaijan due to expected windy conditions on June 30 and July 1.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorology Service released an official statement regarding the deteriorating weather conditions.

In Ganja, Mingachevir, Goranboy, Samux, Naftalan, Goygol, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Yevlax, Tartar, Barda, Kalbajar, Lachin, Yardimli, Lerik, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, easterly winds are expected to reach speeds of 13.9-20.7 meters per second, consistent with the yellow alert criteria.

From the daytime of June 30 through the evening of July 1, intermittent rain and lightning are forecast for various regions of Azerbaijan.

The National Hydrometeorology Service informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that there is a high probability of intense, heavy rainfall and hail in isolated areas. Consequently, water levels in rivers are expected to rise, and short-term flash floods and mudflows in some mountain rivers cannot be ruled out.

The National Hydrometeorology Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, regularly monitors meteorological changes to ensure public safety. These warnings are critical for residents and agricultural sectors in mountainous and lowland regions to prepare for potential hydrological hazards.
