The criminogenic situation in Azerbaijan remained under control during the first quarter of 2026, Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov announced. Speaking at an online meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the minister reviewed the outcomes of law enforcement activities and crime prevention efforts from January to March.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov emphasized that public order and security measures were carried out in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies. "Comprehensive measures implemented in the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes, as well as the protection of human rights and freedoms, have yielded positive results, ensuring that the criminogenic situation is kept under control," the minister stated.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan regularly conducts board meetings to evaluate the efficiency of police departments across the country.
