Uzbekistan and Russia have more than 200 joint projects worth about $6 billion. The projects were discussed at the third meeting of the two countries’ Council of Regions, held in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
Representatives from 14 Uzbek regions and 17 Russian regions attended the event, along with about 400 business representatives from the two countries. Discussions focused on strengthening direct regional ties, expanding industrial cooperation, increasing trade and investment, and developing new joint projects.
Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev said each of the country’s 14 regions maintains ties with more than 50 Russian regions. He said the scale of this cooperation showed that regional links had become an important part of the broader partnership between the two countries.
Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said Russian and Uzbek regions had held about 100 joint events since the beginning of 2026. More than 60 Russian regions and all 14 Uzbek regions took part in the “Innoprom. Central Asia” exhibition, held in Tashkent in April.
