President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 17 to participate in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Uzbek leader was welcomed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Adil Kerimli and other official representatives.
The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, established by the United Nations to examine the most pressing issues facing the world today in the area of human settlements. The 13th session (WUF13) serves as a platform for international leaders to discuss urban development strategies, climate resilience, and the implementation of the New Urban Agenda. Azerbaijan's hosting of such high-level international events underscores its growing role as a regional hub for global diplomatic and developmental dialogue, further strengthening the strategic partnership between Baku and Tashkent.
