US President Donald Trump has stated that his administration is looking forward to productive peace discussions between Azerbaijan and Armenia scheduled for June.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this was mentioned in a letter sent by the US President to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the commencement of the "Baku Energy Week".
The letter reads:
"Your Excellency, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, honorable Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
As you host the 31st 'Baku Energy Week', I extend my congratulations to you and the people of Azerbaijan. This achievement is a testament to Azerbaijan's leadership in the field of energy security.
Our countries have a long history of cooperation in the hydrocarbon sector and are committed to ensuring accessible, abundant energy. The United States is a strong supporter of Azerbaijan's oil and gas industry, and I firmly believe that the importance of our fundamental partnership in global energy security will only grow in the coming years.
When we met at the White House, we took a step forward and achieved long-term peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As you know, regional energy integration is a key pillar of the historic peace summit held on August 8. My administration looks forward to productive discussions on this topic in June.
Together, we will advance peace, strengthen prosperity, and build a more secure future for you in the region and throughout the world. I once again extend my congratulations on a successful 'Baku Energy Week'."
The "Baku Energy Week" is a significant annual event that brings together global energy leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the future of energy security, regional cooperation, and the transition to sustainable energy sources. Azerbaijan has consistently played a pivotal role in European energy security, particularly through the Southern Gas Corridor, which transports natural gas from the Caspian region to European markets.
