The United Nations mission in Baku has extended its congratulations to Azerbaijan on the occasion of "Water Tuesday" (Su Charshanbasi), the first of the four festive Tuesdays leading up to the Novruz holiday.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the representative office shared a congratulatory message on its official page on the X social network.
"On this special day, the UN mission in Azerbaijan wishes everyone prosperity and a year full of new beginnings," the post stated.
In Azerbaijan, the celebration of Novruz is preceded by four Tuesdays, each dedicated to one of the four elements: water, fire, air, and earth. Water Tuesday, the first of these, symbolizes the renewal of nature and the purification of water sources as winter transitions into spring. These traditions are deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Republic of Azerbaijan and are celebrated with various folk customs and festivities across the country.
