Two crew members, including an Indonesian national, are missing after a fishing boat capsized off Jeju Island in South Korea, Yonhap News reported on Monday.
Nine people were rescued after the 29-ton coastal longline fishing vessel overturned in waters about 65 kilometres (40 miles) northwest of Chagwi Island, near the southern resort province of Jeju. Nearby fishermen rescued eight Indonesians and one Vietnamese crew member.
The Jeju Coast Guard said one Indonesian and the South Korean captain remained missing.
Authorities dispatched a helicopter, navy and patrol vessels to search for them, with civilian fishing boats also assisting.
The vessel’s departure report listed eight people on board, but authorities later found that 11 people had been aboard.
