Türkiye’s BIST 100 opens 0.6% lower

Türkiye’s benchmark BIST 100 stock index opened Thursday at 13,172.44 points, down 0.6%, or 79.41 points, from the previous close, according to the Anadolu Agency.

On Wednesday, the index gained 0.4% to finish at 13,251.85 points. Daily trading volume stood at 133 billion Turkish liras ($2.72 billion).

Currency and commodity prices

As of 10:05 a.m. local time (0705 GMT), the Turkish lira was trading at 48.8550 against the US dollar, 55.7675 against the euro and 65.8585 against the British pound.

An ounce of gold was priced at $4,282.2, while Brent crude futures traded at $103.65 per barrel.
