All suspects in the 2013 bomb attacks in Reyhanli, in Türkiye’s Hatay province, have been apprehended in operations coordinated by the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), according to security sources.
The process began with the capture of Yusuf Nazik in 2018, followed by the arrests of Muhammed Dib Korali and Temir Dukanci in 2025 and Omer al-Khatib in 2026. Authorities brought the four to Türkiye in separate operations.
Most recently, Mihrac Ural, who was listed in the “red category” of Türkiye’s wanted terrorists list, was captured near the Syrian border while attempting to flee abroad. The operation was carried out by MIT and Syria’s General Intelligence Service, the sources said.
Nazik, described as one of the attack’s organizers, was captured in an MIT operation in Latakia, Syria, on Sept. 12, 2018, and taken to Türkiye.
Korali, who was among the planners and was reportedly involved in supplying the bombs, was apprehended in Syria on Jan. 14, 2025, and brought to Türkiye. Dukanci, listed in the “orange category” of Türkiye’s wanted terrorists list, was captured in an operation along the Syria-Lebanon border.
Al-Khatib, who was wanted under a “red notice,” was captured by MIT on Oct. 1 while attempting to travel by sea to Europe.
On May 11, 2013, two separate bomb attacks in Reyhanli killed 53 people and injured many civilians.
