US President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for continuing attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, including diesel refineries, AnewZ reports. A woman was killed in Russian overnight strikes on Kyiv.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that Zelensky did not want the Russia-Ukraine war to end and “probably never did.” He claimed the Ukrainian president was targeting Russian diesel refineries despite knowing the attacks would harm the international diesel market, including the United States.
According to Trump, Ukrainian strikes are harming farmers, farms and businesses but are not stopping Russia from exporting diesel to the international market. “He could have had a better deal two years ago than he has now,” Trump added.
The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had proposed meeting Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in November to discuss a possible agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on his Telegram channel on Monday that a Russian strike damaged a metro station on the city’s left bank and a 25-storey residential building. Non-residential buildings and a medical facility were also hit, and three more people were injured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the United States had resumed sharing critical intelligence that helps Ukraine defend against Russian missile strikes. The information is important for providing advance warning of the fast-moving missiles Moscow launches in waves.
