The Main State Traffic Police Department has issued an appeal to drivers amid windy weather.
The department told Operative Information Center-OMM. “Operative Information Center-OMM”
According to the National Hydrometeorology Service, strong winds are expected on October 19 in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in several regions of Azerbaijan.
In response to the sharp change in weather conditions, the Main State Traffic Police Department urged drivers to remain alert on the roads and strictly observe safety rules:
“Strong winds can significantly affect vehicle movement, particularly in open areas, on bridges, overpasses and highways. Sudden changes in wind direction can make a vehicle difficult to control and create dangerous situations, especially for large vehicles and those towing trailers.
“We recommend that drivers adjust their speed to the prevailing weather conditions, increase the distance between vehicles, and avoid sudden manoeuvres and hard braking. It is also important not to park vehicles near trees, advertising boards, power poles or other structures that could pose a danger.”
The Main State Traffic Police Department again urged all road users to take weather conditions into account and act with the utmost care and responsibility on the roads:
“Let us remember that cautious and responsible behaviour is essential for safety in adverse weather conditions.”
