Significant traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads across Baku, causing delays for commuters during peak hours.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital.
As of the latest report, heavy traffic is observed in the following areas:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, in the direction of the city center;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, in the direction of the city center;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue.
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, has experienced rapid urbanization and a significant increase in vehicle ownership over the past decade. The Intelligent Transport Management Center, established to modernize the city's traffic infrastructure, frequently monitors these arterial roads to manage flow and mitigate congestion, which remains a common challenge during morning and evening rush hours in the rapidly developing metropolis.
