Heavy traffic congestion has been recorded on several major roads and avenues in Baku. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Digital Management Center (NIIM) has issued an official update regarding the current density on the capital's transport network.
The NIIM reports that traffic delays are currently observed at the following locations:
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, heading towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Babek Avenue, in the direction of the city center;
- 1st Gol Kanari road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Binagadi highway, in the direction of the "Azadliq Avenue" metro station;
- Koroglu Rahimov Street, from the intersection with Ak. Hasan Aliyev Street towards Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
- Khatai Avenue, in the direction of Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadliq Avenue;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Mikayil Mushfiq Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards School-Lyceum No. 20;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, heading towards the center;
- Sabunchu-Zabrat highway, in the direction of the "Koroglu" metro station;
- Mikayil Aliyev Street, from the Oil Refinery towards the "Koroglu" metro station (up to the circle);
- Gara Garayev Avenue, from the "Gara Garayev" metro station towards the "Koroglu" metro station.
Traffic management in Azerbaijan's capital is overseen by the Digital Management Center, which utilizes intelligent transport systems to monitor flow and reduce congestion. As Baku continues to grow as a major regional hub, the government of Azerbaijan has invested significantly in road infrastructure and digital monitoring to improve urban mobility. Drivers are advised to take the current density into account to avoid delays during peak hours.
