Three individuals have been detained in the Saatli district for operating vehicles under the influence of narcotics during a targeted operation.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, officers from the State Traffic Police Section of the Saatli District Police Department identified the drivers as I. Babayev, Kh. Yaverzade, and S. Yolchuzade. Medical examinations confirmed that the suspects were driving under the influence of marijuana. Administrative protocols have been drawn up against the individuals in accordance with the law.
In addition to the drug-related offenses, police officers identified seven other drivers operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol during the same preventive measures in the district. All offenders have been held administratively liable as part of ongoing efforts to ensure road safety in Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) continues to conduct regular monitoring and raids across the Republic of Azerbaijan to combat driving under the influence of intoxicants. These measures aim to reduce traffic accidents and enhance public safety on national highways. Under Azerbaijani law, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol carries strict penalties, including heavy fines and the potential suspension of driving privileges.
