On July 23, temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to reach as high as 39°C, according to the latest forecast from the National Hydrometeorological Service.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the weather in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula will be sunny. A south-easterly wind is expected to blow. Temperatures will range from 22-25°C at night to 31-36°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is projected to drop from 757 mm to 754 mm of mercury, with relative humidity levels between 70-75% at night and 45-50% during the day.
Across the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is expected to remain largely dry. However, there is a possibility of short-term rain, lightning, and hail in some mountainous areas during the day. Fog is expected in mountainous regions at times, accompanied by a moderate easterly wind. Temperatures in the regions will range from 22-26°C at night to 35-39°C during the day, while mountainous areas will see temperatures of 13-18°C at night and 24-29°C during the day.
Extreme heat events are becoming a recurring feature of the summer climate in Azerbaijan. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these temperature spikes to provide timely warnings to the public, particularly regarding health precautions during peak heat hours. Such high temperatures are typical for the mid-summer season in the region, often influenced by air masses moving from the south.
