A theft involving electrical equipment valued at 10,000 manats has occurred at an electrical substation located in the Khatai district of Baku.
According to the "Operativ Məlumat Mərkəzi-OMM", an unidentified individual broke into the facility and stole circuit breakers and copper busbars from the transformer.
The incident resulted in approximately 10,000 manats in material damage to the substation, which plays a critical role in the local power distribution infrastructure. Such facilities are essential for maintaining the stability of the electrical grid in the capital, and unauthorized interference poses significant risks to both public safety and the continuity of electricity supply to residents.
Following investigative measures, law enforcement authorities apprehended the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Dayanat Karimov, who has a prior criminal record. A portion of the stolen electrical equipment was recovered from the suspect and seized as material evidence.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway by the relevant authorities.
