A 10th-grade student opened fire on a teacher at the private "Idrak" Lyceum in the Binagadi district of Baku on the morning of February 6. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) confirmed that the student, identified by the initials A.Sh., brought a hunting rifle belonging to his father to the educational institution and shot a teacher, identified as Sh.K. Police officers arrived at the scene promptly, detaining the suspect and seizing the weapon. The Prosecutor General's Office stated that the Binagadi District Prosecutor's Office has launched a criminal investigation under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan to determine the motives behind the attack.
According to TƏBİB, the victim, a female teacher born in 1997, was transported to the Clinical Medical Center by an emergency medical team. She is currently receiving treatment in the surgery department for gunshot injuries, with medical professionals describing her condition as moderately severe. Law enforcement officials and prosecutors are currently conducting a site inspection and performing necessary procedural actions to clarify the circumstances of the event.
