Bakıda və rayonlarda külək güclənir

Weather conditions in Azerbaijan have remained largely dry, although light rain was recorded in some mountainous and foothill regions during the night and morning hours.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was provided by the National Hydrometeorological Service in its update as of 11:00 on July 16.

Precipitation levels were minimal, with 6 mm recorded in Gabala, and up to 1 mm in Zagatala, Gryz, and Gusar.

Currently, a north-westerly wind is affecting Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, with gusts reaching a maximum speed of 21 meters per second. In other parts of the country, easterly winds have prevailed, with speeds reaching 19 m/s in Goranboy, 18 m/s in Naftalan, and 17 m/s in Julfa.

The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these atmospheric shifts to ensure public safety. Such wind patterns are characteristic of the Absheron Peninsula's unique climate, often influenced by the interaction between the Caspian Sea and the surrounding landmasses, which frequently leads to sudden changes in wind intensity.
