A yellow meteorological warning has been issued for Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several regions of Azerbaijan due to expected windy weather conditions. The National Hydrometeorological Service announced that strong southwesterly winds will prevail across the capital and various districts starting from the designated period.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the National Hydrometeorological Service, the yellow warning applies to Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as the Khizi, Gobustan, Shamakhi, Kalbajar, Lachin, Zangilan, Fuzuli, Gadabay, and Dashkasan regions. The wind speed is expected to reach between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.
In Azerbaijan, a yellow warning indicates a potential weather risk where the weather is not immediately dangerous but could pose difficulties for certain outdoor activities or transportation. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely updates, ensuring that both the public and relevant government agencies can take necessary precautions against potential wind-related hazards, such as falling trees or infrastructure damage.
