Speaker of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, has arrived in Serbia for an official visit. This was reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Parliament, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.
Upon her arrival at the Nikola Tesla International Airport in Belgrade, Speaker Gafarova was welcomed by Dusan Maric, head of the Serbia-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group of the National Assembly of Serbia, as well as Kamil Khasiyev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia, and other officials.
The primary objective of this visit is to participate in the Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The IPU is the global organization of national parliaments, dedicated to promoting democratic governance, institutions, and values. Such high-level parliamentary exchanges are instrumental in strengthening bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Serbia, fostering cooperation on legislative matters, and enhancing diplomatic dialogue between the two nations.
