A delegation led by the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši, visited Victory Park in Baku on May 13 as part of an official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up in the park to welcome the high-ranking guest. During the ceremony, the Speaker of the Slovak National Council laid a wreath at the Victory Monument, honoring the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The delegation was provided with detailed information about the significance of Victory Park, which was established to immortalize the unparalleled heroism shown by the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War and to commemorate the historic victory. The park serves as a symbol of national pride and a memorial to the martyrs who fell during the 44-day war in 2020.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia have seen significant strengthening in recent years, particularly in the fields of energy, defense, and parliamentary cooperation. This visit follows the signing of a Strategic Partnership agreement between the two nations, highlighting Slovakia's growing interest in the South Caucasus region and its support for regional stability and economic integration.
