Peter Pelleqrini: Azərbaycanın səfirliyi NATO ofisi olacaq

From 2027 to 2028, the Slovak Embassy in Azerbaijan will operate as a NATO contact point embassy, marking a significant step in the partnership between the alliance and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Slovak President Peter Pellegrini announced this decision during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev in the city of Shusha.

"I am pleased that we have close cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of security and defense, and that our defense ministries are collaborating. I am also very glad that Slovak companies will be represented at the defense exhibition to be held in September," President Pellegrini stated.

The designation of an embassy as a NATO contact point is a strategic mechanism used by the alliance to enhance communication and cooperation with partner nations. This role involves the embassy acting as a primary channel for information exchange, promoting NATO's policies, and facilitating joint initiatives in security and defense sectors. This development underscores the growing strategic alignment between Azerbaijan and NATO, building upon long-standing cooperation in peacekeeping operations and regional security dialogues.
