Six more detained over incidents at schools in Baku

An attempt was made to set fire to a secondary school in Baku’s Yasamal district on October 12.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided the information.

The ministry said police detained previously convicted Mahammad Ismayilov, who is suspected of committing the offense, as well as five others who attend the school as 10th- and 11th-grade students.

A criminal case has been launched under the relevant article of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.

Yasamal is one of Baku’s administrative districts. The Ministry of Internal Affairs oversees public order and criminal investigations in Azerbaijan.
