Russian strikes in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region killed six people and injured 14 others, including children, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday, according to Anadolu Agency.
Zelenskyy said a Shahed drone struck people “directly” in a park near a cafe, calling the attack “pure atrocity.”
“A little girl was killed in a stroller — her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025 … Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… ” he wrote on “X”.
He urged the United States to take a firm stance and apply the Lindsey O. Graham sanctions bill against Russia, while calling on Europe to continue supporting Ukraine.
“You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue,” Zelenskyy said, adding that “Ukraine wants peace.”
Last week, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order bypassing sanctions in the law.
Zelenskyy later said Russian strikes had hit 28 substations and other critical energy facilities, with restoration work underway. He also reported delays in the delivery of certain “vital supplies” from the US Defense Department.
He said equipment using “Starlink” and “Starshield” services was shutting down at speeds of 130-161 kilometers per hour (81-100 miles per hour) in various sectors of the front. This was slowing frontline logistics and limiting the use of different drones, particularly mid-strike drones and interceptors targeting jet-powered Shahed drones.
“This must be raised again with our partners at every level today — speed matters when it comes to protecting lives,” he said, thanking those helping Ukraine.
Zelenskyy discusses “Patriot” and F-16 supplies with “Lockheed Martin”
Zelenskyy said he met representatives of US defence company “Lockheed Martin” in Kyiv to discuss expanding supplies of “Patriot” air defence systems and F-16 fighter jets.
He said both systems play an important role in defending Ukraine against Russian ballistic missiles and jet-powered Shahed drones, adding that “things are not easy with either right now.”
“Lockheed Martin” is increasing production of ballistic missile interceptors, Zelenskyy said. Ukraine hopes to purchase some of them to strengthen its defences, while Kyiv is also seeking to ensure that F-16 maintenance and repairs can be carried out in Ukraine.
