A search and rescue operation has been launched following reports of a fisherman missing at sea near the Oil Rocks (Neft Dashlari) area in the Caspian Sea.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the "112" hotline received an emergency call regarding the incident. Upon receiving the alert, relevant authorities were immediately notified, and all vessels navigating in the Caspian Sea in the vicinity were alerted to assist in the search efforts.
Currently, a helicopter from the Ministry of Emergency Situations Aviation Team and rescuers from the Special Risky Rescue Service have been deployed to the site. The search for Rahim Ramiz oglu Osmanov, who is feared to have drowned, is ongoing with the coordination of multiple maritime assets.
The Oil Rocks, located in the Caspian Sea off the coast of Baku, is a historic offshore oil city and a vital hub for Azerbaijan's energy infrastructure. Due to the complex nature of the maritime environment and unpredictable weather conditions in the open sea, the Ministry of Emergency Situations frequently conducts specialized drills and maintains a constant state of readiness to respond to industrial and civilian emergencies in the region.
