Russia and Ukraine exchanged overnight strikes on Friday, leaving 10 people injured and damaging buildings and infrastructure, officials on both sides said.
In the Ukrainian city of Uman, a Russian strike injured five people and set fire to a 10-storey residential building and a vehicle, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said on Telegram.
Russian attacks in the Odesa region injured four people and damaged seven private homes, an energy facility and a household goods factory, regional governor Oleh Kiper said. Fires caused by the strikes were extinguished. Separately, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces hit the Bloom logistics center in Teplodar, alleging it stored military and dual-use cargo for Ukrainian forces, as well as a cargo ship carrying military supplies to the port of Odesa.
Ukraine’s Air Force said its air defenses shot down or suppressed 114 of 149 Russian drones launched overnight. It said 27 drones hit 24 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at 14 sites.
In Russia’s Rostov region, a Ukrainian drone attack injured one person in the Aksay district, regional governor Yury Slyusar said. Falling debris damaged industrial and warehouse buildings and started a fire, he added on the social media platform “Max”. Emergency services were working at the scene.
Russian air defenses repelled a Ukrainian drone attack targeting thermal infrastructure in the regional capital of Vladimir region, governor Alexander Avdeyev said. The attack caused minor damage and no casualties were reported. Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses intercepted and destroyed 644 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions, Crimea—which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014—and the Black Sea. Independent verification of claims by either side remains difficult amid the ongoing war.
