Real Madrid interested in 15-year-old Sporting midfielder

Real Madrid is considering signing 15-year-old midfielder Jacobo Afonso, who plays for Lisbon club Sporting, ESPN reported.

The Madrid club has previously monitored the young player’s development. Real Madrid scouts rate Afonso highly. He stands out for his physical attributes, ability to carry the ball forward and runs from the back line into attack.

According to ESPN, the transfer could happen soon.

The 15-year-old midfielder holds Spanish and Portuguese citizenship. Afonso plays for Spain’s youth national teams. His father, Nuno Afonso, previously played for several clubs, including Benfica.
