Real Madrid beat Roma 4-3 away in the second round of the 2026/27 Champions League season. The Madrid side trailed 3-1 until the 58th minute but turned the match around with three consecutive goals late in the game.
According to MiterChip, Real Madrid completed the fastest comeback from a two-goal deficit in an away Champions League match. Carlos Espi scored for the Madrid club in the 83rd minute, Endrick equalised in the 85th, and Antonio Rüdiger netted the winner in the 90th minute.
Just 7 minutes and 43 seconds passed between Espi’s goal and Rüdiger’s winner. The previous record belonged to Liverpool, who came back from two goals down against Villarreal in May 2022 in 12 minutes and 48 seconds.
Real Madrid therefore secured a 4-3 victory over Roma and set a new mark for the fastest comeback from a two-goal deficit in an away Champions League match.
