Rainy weather is expected to prevail across Azerbaijan on May 8, with precipitation intensifying in several areas.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service reported that Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience changeable cloudy and occasionally overcast skies. Rain is forecasted for some parts of the peninsula during the morning and afternoon hours, with the possibility of short-term intensification in specific locations. A south-easterly wind will prevail in the capital.
In Baku, the air temperature will range from 12-15°C at night to 17-22°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will stand at 764 mm Hg, while relative humidity is expected to be 65-70% at night and 45-55% during the day. In the regions of Azerbaijan, intermittent rain is expected, with lightning, hail, and snow in high-altitude mountainous areas. A moderate western wind will blow, and the unstable conditions are expected to gradually subside by the evening.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, an agency under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, regularly monitors atmospheric processes to provide accurate forecasts for the Republic of Azerbaijan. Such fluctuations in spring weather are typical for the Caucasus region, where the interaction of Caspian Sea air masses and mountainous terrain often leads to rapid changes in precipitation levels and temperature. These official warnings are essential for the coordination of agricultural activities and the management of transport infrastructure during periods of heavy rainfall.
