Income earned by private forensic experts will be subject to tax.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the measure is included in a draft amendment to the Tax Code discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
Under the draft, fees received under contracts to commission forensic examinations, excluding expenses, will be considered taxable income.
The draft sets the tax rate on that income at 10%.
Forensic examinations provide expert analysis for legal proceedings. The proposed amendment would establish a specific tax treatment for fees earned by private experts carrying out such work.
