President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera, on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the message reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Malawi – Independence Day, I extend my most sincere congratulations to you and, through you, to all your people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.

I believe that the relations between Azerbaijan and Malawi will continue to develop and expand in the spirit of friendship, in line with the interests of our peoples.

On this auspicious day, I convey my best wishes to you and wish the friendly people of Malawi lasting peace and prosperity."

Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, celebrates its independence from the United Kingdom, which was achieved on July 6, 1964. Azerbaijan continues to actively pursue the strengthening of diplomatic ties and cooperation with nations across the African continent, seeking to foster mutual understanding and explore potential avenues for bilateral partnership in various sectors.
