President Ilham Aliyev has stated that receiving an award named after the late founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed, is a great honor for him.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during the presentation ceremony of the "Zayed Award for Human Fraternity" held in Abu Dhabi. The President highlighted the significance of the award in promoting global peace and solidarity.
“He is a great leader who turned the UAE into one of the most prosperous and successful countries in the world. My dear brother Sheikh Mohammed continues his father's policy in development, progress, and continuous modernization. Today, the UAE is truly an example for many countries on how to transform a nation and build a society that lives in peace and harmony, deeply connected to its historical roots while looking toward the future,” the head of state noted.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an independent global award that recognizes individuals and entities for their profound contributions to human progress and peaceful coexistence. Established in 2019, the award was inspired by the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar in Abu Dhabi. The recognition of President Ilham Aliyev underscores the strengthening diplomatic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Azerbaijan's commitment to multiculturalism and international cooperation.
