President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Lord Vernon Coaker, the UK Minister of State for Defense, on September 30.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the guest expressed gratitude for the reception and said he felt honored to be in Azerbaijan and meet with President Ilham Aliyev.
Referring to the significance of the “ADEX 2026” and “Securex Caspian” exhibitions held in Baku, Lord Vernon Coaker said his country was interested in participating in the event. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the high-level organization of the exhibitions.
Describing Azerbaijan as a very important friendly country for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the guest emphasized that they were interested in continuing this friendship.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked Lord Vernon Coaker for participating in the exhibitions and said the ADEX exhibition had become an important international event over many years.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that a new chapter had begun in bilateral partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom — cooperation in the defense industry.
The head of state said Azerbaijan had been investing in its defense industry for more than 20 years and that products were now being manufactured in this sector for domestic consumption and export. President Ilham Aliyev referred to prospects for cooperation with leading companies on bringing modern weapons and equipment to Azerbaijan, as well as establishing joint ventures in the country, and underscored the importance of partnership with the United Kingdom in this regard.
