President Ilham Aliyev has signed a law ratifying the "Treaty between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine on legal assistance in civil and commercial matters."

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the legislation formalizes the agreement originally signed in Gabala on April 25, 2026. This ratification marks a significant step in strengthening the bilateral legal framework between Baku and Kyiv.

The treaty is designed to streamline judicial cooperation, facilitate the exchange of legal documents, and provide mutual assistance in civil and commercial litigation. Such agreements are standard instruments in international law, aimed at protecting the rights of citizens and legal entities of both Azerbaijan and Ukraine when operating within each other's jurisdictions. By formalizing these procedures, the two nations aim to enhance the efficiency of their respective judicial systems in handling cross-border legal disputes.
