Azerbaijan and Armenia are now living in peace and establishing trade relations, President Ilham Aliyev stated in a congratulatory letter addressed to US President Donald Trump.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Azerbaijani leader highlighted the significant progress in regional stability during his correspondence with the US President.
"We highly value your determined efforts to promote a peace agenda and ensure sustainable development in the South Caucasus. The results of the historic trilateral meeting held at the White House on August 8 of last year, initiated by you, created an entirely new positive atmosphere and situation in our region. Azerbaijan and Armenia are already living in peace and building trade relations. At the same time, I would like to specifically note your country's continued support for the realization of infrastructure projects that serve stability and prosperity in the region, especially the 'Trump International Peace and Prosperity Route,' which will provide an alternative, reliable, and secure connection between Asia and Europe," the head of state noted in his letter.
The South Caucasus region has undergone significant geopolitical shifts in recent years, particularly following the resolution of the long-standing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The normalization of relations is viewed as a crucial step toward regional integration, with major international powers, including the United States, playing a supportive role in facilitating dialogue and infrastructure connectivity that links the Caspian region to global markets.
