"Every time I visit Garabagh and East Zangezur and witness this remarkable development, my heart is filled with joy. It reaffirms once again what a great, creative, and nation-building people we are," said President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a meeting with residents resettled in the villages of Guzeykhirman and Guneykhirman in the Khojavand district.
"We are the rightful owners of these lands. The entire world not only knows this but has come to accept it. Even those who may not wish to do so are compelled to acknowledge it, because we have made them accept our truths," the head of state added.
The restoration of the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions has been a primary strategic priority for Azerbaijan since the end of the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020. The government is currently implementing the "Great Return" program, which focuses on rebuilding infrastructure, constructing modern residential areas, and facilitating the safe return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral lands. Khojavand, a district liberated during the conflict, is a key focus of these large-scale reconstruction efforts aimed at revitalizing the region's socio-economic landscape.
