President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made a phone call to President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on February 26.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Press Service of the President, that the head of state congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his birthday, wishing him long life, good health, and success in his future endeavors.
The Turkish President expressed his gratitude for the attention and warm congratulations. During the telephone conversation, the heads of state also exchanged views on upcoming bilateral contacts and the further strengthening of the strategic alliance between the two nations.
The relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkiye is characterized by the principle of "one nation, two states," a bond solidified by the Shusha Declaration signed in 2021. This strategic partnership covers all areas of cooperation, including defense, regional security, and economic integration. Regular high-level dialogues between President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan play a pivotal role in maintaining regional stability and advancing joint energy and transport projects in the South Caucasus.
