President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state extended his most sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Emir and the people of Kuwait on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan.
"The current level of Azerbaijan-Kuwait interstate relations, developing in the spirit of mutual respect and trust, is gratifying. The existence of mutual understanding and active dialogue at the highest level creates favorable conditions for expanding our cooperation in various fields," the letter reads. President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the traditional friendly relations and effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, both bilaterally and within international organizations, will continue to deepen through joint efforts in accordance with the interests of both nations.
The President also took the opportunity to congratulate the Emir and the friendly people of Kuwait on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing the Emir robust health and success, and the State of Kuwait peace and prosperity.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait were established in 1994, and the two nations share strong cultural and religious ties. In recent years, both countries have focused on enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of tourism, energy, and trade. Kuwait has consistently supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
